​In conjunction with her short film Souls, Malakai had her first institutional exhibition in March of 2019 with the Phoenix Art Museum as apart of the Contemporary Forum Artist Grant.  This is where Malakai composed a three channel film installation that received statewide attention, A SOLD out premiere that was so successfull that the Phoenix Art Musuem expanded the installation and exhibition to August of 2019.
